Stop Motion Project

This weekend Trevon and I made a stop motion video for this History of Creativity final project... Basically I hijacked his project and told him what we were doing. I finally had a valid excuse to spend hours making this video I have been obsessing over for months since I saw the Levis commercial. There was definitely a learning curve with this process...

Here is what I would do differently...
  1. More exact posing and camera position
  2. Pick a day when it is NOT snowing so we can have more variety.
  3. Consistent exposures throughout.
  4. Maybe use a flash in certain portions, I could have done this the day of, but we were going for speed and simplicity.
  5. More people to help! It was just Trevon and me working on this thing, with a few extra hands it could have been better... I think.
The bullet points of the process...
  • The process of taking pictures lasted about 5 hours with a few breaks in there for the pregnant photographer with heartburn.
  • It consisted of me taking the pictures and then stepping backwards and Trevon stepping forwards. I did make an effort to keep him in the same place in the frame for most of it...
  • There are approximately 900 individual photos for the 2 minutes and 40 seconds of the video.
  • We shot it in the order we wanted the video to be played in for the most part, so editing was very minimal.
  • The pictures are at a rate between 5-10 frames per seconds, I would have liked it faster, but we were limited by the software we had available.
So, before you watch, keep in mind I am not a videographer, and I am a definite amateur at putting video/stop motion movies together.

Seriously I was smiling the whole time.. these are the things i love - Trevon can keep the same expression on his face for 5 hours straight - the shout out to Fin at the end, and the little hands up wave when Trev goes out one of the doors. I think you did a fantastic job!!!!!!!
